Dear Friends,
As we enter this sacred time of reflection and renewal, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your families. The Days of Awe—beginning with Rosh Hashana and culminating in Yom Kippur—invite us to pause, reflect on the past year, and embrace the hope of new beginnings. While this past year has presented deeply troubling challenges both here in Rochester and around the world, we remain deeply committed to the pursuit of peace and wholeness for those we serve. As we approach the one-year anniversary of the tragic events of October 7th, we honor the memories of those we’ve lost and the resilience that continues to guide us.
At JFS Rochester, we are inspired by the strength and compassion you show in your many connections to the organization and our shared community. Together, we have continued to build a community rooted in care and kindness. Here in Rochester, we’ve seen the remarkable impact of neighbors helping neighbors—whether by providing food to families, essential school supplies to students, supporting Holocaust survivors and older adults, or offering mental health services to those in need. These efforts reflect the spirit of our community and remind us that even in challenging times, we can come together to uplift and heal.
May the coming year bring peace, renewal, and hope for you, your loved ones, and communities near and far. From all of us at JFS, we wish you a year filled with blessings and the strength to continue making a meaningful difference.
Shana Tova!
