Jewish Living for People with I/DD

About the Program

JFS Rochester’s Jewish Living Program is dedicated to creating an inclusive community that celebrates the unique strengths and abilities of every individual. We believe that everyone should have access to the joy and richness of Jewish life, and we strive to make that a reality for all those we serve. The program supports adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) by providing opportunities for multi-sensory engagement with Jewish holidays, traditions, and culture. Our program is available year-round and aims to foster a sense of community and belonging among participants who reside in group homes or with their families. Through a variety of activities, including music, art, storytelling, and cooking, our experienced staff creates meaningful and engaging experiences that help participants develop social skills, enhance communication, and improve overall well being. The program also offers respite services and a support network for caregivers.
