About Housing Stability Services

Helping People Stay Housed, Connected & Supported

Stable housing is the foundation for health, well-being, and opportunity. At JFS, we understand that housing challenges rarely exist in isolation. They are often connected to financial hardship, health concerns, aging-related needs, trauma, mental health challenges, or a lack of support systems. Our Housing Stability Services take a whole-person approach, helping individuals and families access the resources, services, and community connections that support lasting stability and well-being.

JFS Rochester’s Housing Stability Services help people navigate these challenges before they become crises. Through personalized support, resource navigation, and connections to community services, we work alongside individuals and families to help them maintain housing, address barriers to stability, and access the resources they need to move forward.

JFS also runs The NORC  at Ellison Park Apartments, supporting housing stability by helping older adults age in place within their community.

The Link Between Housing & Hunger

Housing insecurity and food insecurity are often deeply connected. Families struggling to pay rent may also be forced to make difficult choices about groceries, healthcare, transportation, and other essentials. That is why Housing Stability Services are based at the Brighton Food Cupboard and partner with partner organizations who serve this population, where our team can identify housing concerns early and provide support in a trusted, welcoming environment. By connecting with people before a housing crisis occurs, we can help prevent homelessness and strengthen long-term stability.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
