At JFS Rochester, we understand that the mental health challenges that come with aging affect both the older adults themselves and their caregivers. That’s why we offer counseling services tailored specifically to the unique needs of older adults and their families and are able to see clients at our offices, via telehealth or at their homes. Our licensed therapists provide a range of services to help older adults navigate the complex emotional, social, and medical issues that can arise as they age. We work with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals, and we strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that fosters healing and growth.
Our counseling services for older adults also extend to their caregivers, who often face their own unique set of challenges. We provide support and guidance for those who care for aging loved ones, helping them to manage the stresses of caregiving, navigate complex systems and resources, and maintain their own emotional well-being. We also have therapists that specialize in counseling for our community’s Holocaust Survivors and their families. Our therapists offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to explore the joys and challenges of caregiving, and to develop effective strategies for meeting the needs of both the caregiver and the care recipient. With our help, older adults and their caregivers can find support, relief, and renewed hope for the future.
