The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and be adept at utilizing various technologies.  Responsibilities include data entry, processing invoices, biweekly payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, digital record keeping of financial documents, and general clerical duties as needed.  Your ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks will ensure your success in this role.   • Perform a range of accounting and clerical functions. 
  • Handle accounts payable tasks, including opening, sorting, and recording of invoices and processing vendor payments in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other staff to obtain clarification regarding account distribution to programs and agency accounts.
  • Review expenses and credit card transactions for reasonableness and ensure that accounting documents have proper support for transactions.
  • Record business transactions, prepare journal entries, and input data into general ledger system.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and reconciliations as required.
  • Handle posting of cash receipts and deposits; process remote deposits on a regular basis.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in staff development as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff and provide coverage as requested.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by supervisor and leadership.

Education & Experience:

Minimum of Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree plus 2-3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or another related field. Must have excellent organizational and technological skills.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Drive, SharePoint.  Experience in Donor Perfect and Abila/MIP, Bene-Care payroll software a plus.  Must be comfortable with general office equipment such as printer, copier, and office phone system.

Salary & Benefits:

This 25-30 hour per week, part-time position offers an hourly rate of $22-25/hour. You’ll be eligible to participate in our health and dental insurance plans, with JFS contributing a prorated amount annually.
