Jewish Family Service welcomes individual pledges and contributions, which are crucial in order for the agency to fulfill its mission. Jewish Family Service is deeply grateful to each and every donor who contributes to the organization.
In 2003, JFS launched its first coordinated, major gift effort, with the goal of raising $2 million to help secure many of the agency's most vital programs. To date, we have raised over 10% of the goal from just four generous, confirmed gifts.Get more detailed information regarding the Major Gift Effort and named giving opportunities.
JFS gratefully receives hundreds of annual campaign contributions each year. These gifts are generally not designated for specific programs, but rather provide important general support for the agency. Please consider making your own generous gift to the campaign year – which starts July 1 and ends on June 30. All gifts of $36 or more are acknowledged in our newsletter, The Family Album, which is mailed to approximately 6,000 households. You can contribute to the Annual Campaign here.
Donors who contribute $500 or more to the annual campaign automatically become members of the JFS Family Tree Society. They are acknowledged in a special section of the Annual Report, and they enjoy a complementary annual Family Tree Society social event. Most of all, they enjoy knowing that they have taken a leadership role in helping those who turn to JFS for assistance.
Giving levels within the Family Tree Society range from $500 to $5,400. At $1,800 and above, members receive a personalized, original piece of artwork. At the $5,400 level, members also receive a personalized indoor or outdoor tree with an accompanying plaque.

Would you like to acknowledge a special celebration, such as a wedding, a birth, or a bat mitzvah? Would you like to honor the memory of a loved one? Jewish Family Service offers the perfect opportunity to do so with a special contribution. Your gift will be publicly acknowledged in the Family Album, and a specially printed JFS note card will be sent to the person or family you are honoring. Minimum suggested tribute is $10.00 per acknowledgement. You can make a Tribute Donation here.
JFS is also proud of its family of named funds. Contributions throughout the year can be designated directly to these funds and are reported as such in the Family Album. Minimum balance for a named fund is $10,000. JFS welcomes you and your family to consider establishing a named fund. You can view a list of our current Family Funds here.
The easiest way to donate stock to Jewish Family Service is to have your broker call our Finance Department at 585- 461-0110 ext. 113. Please note that the value of your stock gift to us is calculated by taking the average price of the stock the day it enters a Jewish Family Service account.
The Finance Department will obtain the necessary information to pass along to your broker to complete the transfer of your stock gift. In order to accurately record receipt of your gift, please have your broker send us the following information:
